Oh Tarheels! Why? Why did you lose to Kansas? ::cries::

On a brighter note, today was my friend's surprise 30th birthday party at Dave and Buster's in Center City. It was lots of fun. I told her she should appreciate the effort her husband went to for the party because it was very lovely. And I saw some of our mutual friends that I hadn't seen in awhile...always nice, especially considering how sucky things had been lately with pneumonia and such.

Also discovered a new bakery in my area that has this amazing Strawberry Shortcake. Sure, one of the last things I need is sweets in my diet, but yummy. I think I'll have to try their brownie cake at some point...just yummy.

About to fall asleep and then I'm hoping tomorrow to get caught up on a bunch of fannish things. Real life has just...kicked my butt is putting it mildly.

I'm sure y'all have been missing me like whoa and I apologize for my disappearance. I was enjoying a mini-vacation to celebrate my birthday properly. Because birthdays are meant to be week-long celebrations where you are spoiled and pampered. It would be one of my first laws enacted if I ruled the world (after declaring that people need my express written consent to drive).

I am currently working on the remainder of the birthday fics I owe people and a crossover story that has gotten away from me. There was a time when I was productive with my writing. I mean, I've never been prolific, but I used to get some stuff done. Lately, I have no interest in it. I'm feeling blah about the whole process, including reading fic. That's not normal. Surely, I have some sort of weird fannish ennui.

In a much better place, I now own both Heroes and Friday Night Lights season one. There may be some more FNL fic to come at some point - I wrote one for yuletide last year - because I adore Matt Saracen. He's so damn cute. And Mr. & Mrs. Coach are just so wonderful.
