Last night my sister and I got around to watching the pilot of In Plain Sight. Considering Mary McCormack really isn't someone I'm overjoyed by (I think it goes back to her West Wing character, who I really didn't take a liking to), I really enjoyed her in this role.

I kinda saw it as a Veronica Mars, all grown up & bitter, working as a US Marshall. She's snarky and hates being vulnerable, but you can tell she cares dammit and it pisses her off.

I'm really a sucker for snarky, tough women. And I loved her banter with the other marshall. It's awesome.

Definitely recommend checking it out.

I'm really getting sick of all these teasers for the new season of Burn Notice that don't actually include any new scenes/clips. I want some new stuff. I'm an impatient girl who has been waiting since October for more Michael Weston.

And if someone had told me five years ago that my favorite channel would be the USA network, I would've laughed a lot. But 4400 (which I miss), Psych, Monk, Burn Notice...and now In Plain Sight. Really good stuff.

I might actually get myself caught up on Battlestar Galatica in the near future. I'm almost through season three. The Lee/Kara dance is really starting to annoy me. I love both Lee and Kara on their own. They rock, but together, they just bug me lately. And I started as a L/K shipper, so this is surprising to me. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't love Anders and Dee as well...because seriously, stop jerking them around.

Once I'm caught up on that, I have to decide which comes next - Reaper or Lost. Anyone want to pick for me?

It seems that pilots are starting to be leaked onto the lovely internet. I've gotten my hands on Fringe and enjoyed it a great deal. It's a bit creepy and defintely interesting. Plus, it has Josh Jackson.

I'm a bit worried about getting too attached though. First, it's a show that I like on Fox. Rarely, if ever, does this work out for me. Going back a very long time with Firefly and Wonderfalls...a show airs just long enough to suck me in and then goes away. It's sad when Arrested Development got cancelled after three seasons (FAR TOO SOON) and I was thinking, "For Fox that's like running Law & Order."

Second, this is JJ Abrahams and I have a love-hate-love relationship with that man. He always manages to suck me into his worlds and creates characters I come to love...and then BAM. The shoe drops and it goes to sucktastic places and I have to decide if I'm strong enough to make it through (see 2nd season Felicity, 3rd season Alias, and 2nd season Lost).

Anyway, it's a good pilot and I'll watch it when it airs in the fall. I mean, it has Josh Jackson with scruff.

I also got my hands on the first two episodes of season two of Dirty Sexy Money. I haven't watched them yet, but I can't wait. I love this show. It's awesome and snarky and Brian is made of win. I'm so glad it's coming back for a second season...and hopefully, it will be a full season of wonderful stuff.

I'm going to try to do a bit more writing this evening. Maybe some prompts so that I can build up my confidence again before undertaking some of my challenge stuff. It's nice to finally have written something, especially since it was decent. Now I just have to keep the momentum going.

No matter how old you get, sometimes all a person really needs is a hug from her mommy. I'm having a day of it and I'm not sure why. So my mom offered me a hug and while I'm not completely "yay life" now, I'm feeling a tad bit better. Like maybe I can accomplish something.

Plus, it doesn't hurt that my mother offered to do my towels tomorrow. Yay for getting out of laundry.

I might be working on *another* prompt community...this one involving a bunch of tables of lyrics from songs. And maybe putting together zip files of the music in case someone needs it. Because when I feel like my writing sucks, nothing says "PROCRASTINATE" like making a new community.

I'm listening to the podcast of the Preston & Steve morning show. Aside from NPR, they are the only radio I really listen to...and now with the podcast I can listen to the whole thing rather than just the bits I always got while I got ready for work/drove to work.

It was so funny to me when Nielsen Family asked me to do the radio survey for a week. My whole thing was WMMR for morning show and then NPR. I can't listen to most music on the radio because I start to hate certain songs over and over.

Aside from Ironman fic, I've become addicted to OTPs at Target ficlets. I recommended to the girls who started the challenge that they make it a community. Who knew that Target was as equally addictive in fiction as it is for shopping?

Now I shall go read fic and try to write.

I ended up signing up for not only the oldschool ficathon run by my wifey, but the smallfandomfest going on as well. But I couldn't resist the prompt of Harry Dresden and Cal Leandros meeting. I'm a sucker for crossovers.

Of course, I'm also a sucker for lazing about and procrastination, so we'll see.

I've been reading a lot of Iron Man, Tony/Pepper fic lately. There's not a whole lot of good stuff out there, but I'm constantly on a search. Soon I might even have some recs.

And this is the problem with my fickle, polyfandom ways. I'm always skipping around so much.

Today I'm having lunch with Amy and Mike. We're having pizza and trying to take our minds off the insanity that is work. Originally my plan was to get some Whole Foods and write, but yeah, today has not been a good day and I need my friends. And if there is one thing Mike comes in handy for, it's making me laugh.

I need some David Cook icons. I also need some Shia icons from the new Indiana Jones movie. And I really want Indy & Marion (sp?) and Mudd fic, where they're bickering and taking adventures and just cool stuff.

This is the day that never ends. And it's raining and cold. And on top of it all, gmail is being a terror. I want my emails from my friends without it freezing my computer every single time thankyouverymuch.

On the brightside, New Kids on the Block has added a Philadelphia show in November. This is good because my friend and I weren't able to get tickets for Atlantic City. And we're lame and really wanted to go. Because a girl never gets over her love of Joey McIntyre.

I'm trying to get myself back to writing, but real life and terrible laziness are interfering with such things. Sadly, I find the laziness harder to overcome. Because some times my bed is just a very enticing place. And naps are heaven sent.
